Making it to the Finals in the 2018 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival in Des Moines, Iowa
Steve Kost: US NAVY Seabees "I have had my work on exhibit at Northern Illinois University Art Museum, Veteran Art shows in Texas, Denver, Chicago and Michigan. I have created artwork from the famous Old Joliet Prison that is on display in the Illinois State Museum Lockport Gallery. I am proud to have won a national award in 2019 for using art as therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I have found a healthy way to focus my anxiety into art, and a way to inspire other veterans to pursue art and music. I am truly grateful to have supportive friends behind me as I find new opportunities to share the healing power of my art with the world. " Check out more at https://champaignparks.com/art-exhibits/

We lose 22 veterans a day to suicide based on depression /anxiety or ptsd. As a veteran I wrote this song during my darkest times of my life when I was thinking of doing the same thing. It's through Veterans Creative Arts I have re-found my purpose of helping veterans in coping and battling their fight against depression / anxiety and depression.
Just Got Off The Plane - wrote/composed/performed and copyright ©2023 by Desert Storm Army Veteran Bill Richards. It's through his experiences that promoted him to write this song. Soldiers coming back home with NO ONE to greet them.

This song was written while visiting the Middle East Conflict Memorial Wall in Marseilles, IL. While there, I was hit with an eerie sort of serene feeling that this was the first memorial I had visited that had names of people I knew personally and had served with. The words came to me as I sat there, and I grabbed a piece of parchment paper and wrote them out. The bones of this song came together in less than 10 minutes. This song is dedicated to all those who gave their lives in the name of American freedom. This is the 2nd release form my debut EP, #Forever29, which can be purchased here: https://apple.co/30RcyOJ 25% of the proceeds will be donated to the #USO #Navy #military #memorial #USA

Michigan-born Amanda Allen is a self-described adrenaline junkie. The fire department wasn't enough so she joined the Army. Even though she wanted to be in the infantry and join the Rangers, as a female, she wasn't allowed so the next closest option was Military Police. When she deployed to the middle east, she found that while being a female in the military is already hard, being a female in the military in Afghanistan is even harder. Fortunately her natural grit and fighting spirit served her well. This is her story.
